A message from the Pastor

Connections -- if you are searching for spiritual connection we have good news. Almighty God can be found, even by those who consider themselves "lost causes." There are solid resources for spiritual growth, connected spiritual growth, posted in the blog I maintain on this site.

We believe the search for spiritual connection can be difficult; but it is an honorable search. We are not a perfect congregation, but we promise to be available for people seeking God's leadership through Jesus Christ. To see how other people have found New Hope as "their place" please wander around this site.

We are not going to pester you, after you come on a Sunday morning. If you ask us to, we will add your name to the Church mailing list. This is not an automatically done process. If you choose to "sign in" on a Sunday morning you will receive a mailing of “The Flash Mail of New Hope.” What do we sound like? One factor rather limits our site. Because of music licensing requirements we do not provide recorded music of Sunday worship times. If you would like hear the teaching content and style of a Sunday service that is rather easy to accomplish.

Please click on the Cyberears connection link. There is no charge for this service. If you would like check out a blog that I maintain you would also be welcome to participate. As of early summer 2008 the blog focuses on a series of books centered around "Partners for the Journey." I hope this site and perhaps the other portions of New Hope serve as a connection in your spiritual walk.

Children and youth play a special role at New Hope Christian Church

  • If you have children (nursery age through elementary) please know that we are consistently working to provide meaningful Christian Education for them. "Main Street" is an interactive, visually stimulating, kid-friendly worship experience. All first time visitors should fill out an information sheet. Please come and pick up your children after the service concludes. Children will not be released to anyone except those designated on the information sheet. Because of our limited space we do not currently use the strategy of a separate children's Sunday School program and therefore this hour long program is our vital link in Christian Education. Because we place a high value on safety the children's areas are covered by closed circuit video monitoring.
  •  Our regular programming includes a nursery  each Sunday and age appropriate classes for children including a  high school age group called "Students That Encourage People" (S.T.E.P).

A Musical Worship Style and a Little More Insight

Pamela Blackburn
Minister of Music

Don’t worry if you can’t find the hymnals, choir or pipe organ. There aren’t any. We have a Praise and Worship Team with upbeat music and vocals. We blend the best of contemporary and traditional worship music and patterns into what we call "the New Hope style," that we believe honors God. You will also find that we occasionally use multi-media and drama to help drive home a point. And if you don’t want to sing, it’s okay -- true worship flows from within a person.

Pastor Simkins' blog offers his thoughts on topics of religion, church and community. You are invited to read and learn as well as participate by commenting on any topic. Click here to check out the blog.

While surfing our site you will want to visit our Youth Ministries pages. We have what we feel is one of the best youth programs for younger children in the area and are working on making our teen program the same. Click here now.

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King. Psalms 98:4-6. Click here to see what we do to Rejoice.
